Comet Pellet Hops
Despite being around since the early 60’s, Comet has seen a recent surge in popularity. Brewers who prefer Comet’s lower Alpha Acid (9-12%) and well-rounded flavor profile. Comet is zesty with grapefruit and tangerine, but is backed by some unique grassy and herbal elements. Some brewers describe Comet’s unique aroma as “Wild American” that produces one-of-kind beers.

Caryophyllene 5 – 7 % of total oil
Farnesene < 1 % of total oil
COMET HOP SUBSTITUTIONSÂ
Comet being an older hop that is well known for its “wild American” flavor, bred for bittering, and often used in American-style lagers. Columbus and Centennial both carry wonderful bittering characteristics making them the perfect substitute for Comet.
